Answer:

y = 15.38

x = (16+y)/4 = (16+15.38)/4 = 31.38 /4 = 7.84

GivEn :

  • 4x - y = 16
  • 6x + 5y = 62

To find :

  • The value of x and y?

Solution :

• Let's consider 4x - y = 16 as equation 1 and 6x + 5y = 62 as equation 2.

★ Here, Firstly we will solve the equation 1 to get the value of x. Then, We will put the value of x in the second equation, To obtain the values of both variables.

First equation,

⟶ 4x - y = 16

⟶ 4x = 16 + y

⟶ x = (16 + y)/4

Putting the value of x in equation 2,

⟶ 6x + 5y = 62

⟶ 6((16 + y)/4) + 5y = 62

⟶ 13y/2 + 24 = 62

⟶ 13y/2 = 62 - 24

⟶ 13y/2 = 38

⟶ 13y = 38 × 2

⟶ 13y = 76

⟶ y = 76/13

∴ Hence, Y = 76/13.

Putting the value of y in equation 1 to find the value of x,

⟶ 4x - y = 16

⟶ 4x - (76/13) = 16

⟶ 4x = 16 + 76/13

⟶ 4x = 284/13

⟶ x = 284/13/4

⟶ x = 71/13

Hence, X = 71/13.
