After opening the brackets

5x-4x+14 = 6x-2+7/2

taking a to one side constants to other side

6x+4x-5x=14+2-7/2

or 5x = 16-7/2

or 5x = (37-7)/2

or 5x = 25/2

or x = 5/2 (answer)

Answer:

Solution:

Given 5x – 2(2x – 7) = 2(3x – 1) + 7/2

=> 5x – 4x + 14 = 6x – 2 + 7/2

=> x – 6x = -14 -2 + 7/2

=> -5x = -16 + 7/2

=> -5x = (-32+7)/2

=> -5x = -25/2

=> x = 25/10

=> x = 5/2
