ANSWER:

  • Value of x is -3/2 or -1/3.

GIVEN:

  • 6x²+3 = -11x

TO FIND:

  • Value of 'x'.

SOLUTION:

=> 6x²+11x+3 = 0

=> 6x²+9x+2x+3 = 0

=> (6x²+9x)+(2x+3) = 0

=> 3x(2x+3)+1(2x+3) = 0

=> (2x+3)(3x+1) = 0

Either (2x+3) = 0

=> 2x = -3

=> x = -3/2

Either (3x+1) = 0

=> 3x = -1

=> x = -1/3

Value of x is -3/2 or -1/3.

NOTE:

Some important formulas:

(a+b)² = a²+b²+2ab

(a-b)² = a²+b²-2ab

(a+b)(a-b) = a²-b²

(a+b)³ = a³+b³+3ab(a+b)

(a-b)³ = a³-b³-3ab(a-b)

a³+b³ = (a+b)(a²+b²-ab)

a³-b³ = (a-b)(a²+b²+ab)

(a+b)² = (a-b)²+4ab

(a-b)² = (a+b)²-4ab
