x + 2y = 3_____(2)

in equ.. (2) multiply by 2

7x -4y = 3

2x + 4y =3

---------------------

9x = 6

x = 6/9

x=2/3 .

put the value of x in equation 1.

7x-4y=3

7. 2/3 -4y =3

14/3 -4y =3

-4y=3-14/3

-4y=-5/3

y= 5/12 (here -4 &-5/3 cancel out sine (-) .

so,

x=2/3 & y= 5/12 .
