7x - 4y = 9 --------- (i)

3x + 2y = -11 ----------- (ii)

In equation¹,

7x - 4y = 9

x =  \frac{9 + 4y}{7}

Substituting the value of x in equation²

3x + 2y =  - 11

3( \frac{9 + 4y}{7} ) + 2y =  - 11

( \frac{27 + 12y}{7}) +  (\frac{2y}{1})  =  - 11

 \frac{27 + 12y + 14y}{7}  =  - 11

27 + 12y + 14y =  - 77

26y =  - 77 - 27

y =  \frac{ - 104}{26}

Substituting the value of y in equation 1

7x - 4y = 9

7x - 4( - 4) = 9

7x + 16 = 9

7x = 9 - 16

x =  \frac{ - 7}{7}
