So, 1kg cost of suga = 206¼÷5½

=825/4 ÷ 11/2

= 825/4 × 2/11

= 75/2kg

Therefore, 8¼kg sugar cost

= 75/2 × 8¼ =75/2 × 33/4

= 2475/8 = £309⅜
