Your question needs a correction.

Correct \: question : \dfrac{ \sqrt{ax + b} + \sqrt{ax - b} }{ \sqrt{ax + b} - \sqrt{ax - b} } = 2

= > √( ax + b ) + √( ax - b ) = 2√( ax + b ) - 2√( ax - b )

= > 2√( ax - b ) + √( ax - b ) = 2√( ax + b ) - √( ax + b )

= > 3√( ax - b ) = √( ax + b )

Square on both sides,

= > 9( ax - b ) = ax + b

= > 9ax - 9b = ax + b

= > 9ax - ax = b + 9b

= > 8ax = 10b

= > x = 5b / 4a

Second method is given in the attached file.
