Step-by-step explanation:

QUESTIONS:-

solve by applying quadratic formula

2 {x}^{2}  + x + 4 = 0

solution:-

2 {x}^{2}  + x + 4 = 0 \\

using quadratic formula

x =  \frac{ - b \pm \sqrt{ {b}^{2}  - 4ac} }{2a}

now :- a=2 , b=1 and c=4

put the value on formula

x =  \frac{ - 1 \pm \sqrt{ {1}^{2} - 4 \times 2 \times 4 } }{2 \times 2}  \\ x =  \frac{ - 1 \pm \sqrt{1 - 32} }{4}  \\ x =  \frac{ - 1 \ +  \sqrt{31} }{4}  \: and \: x =  \frac{ - 1 -  \sqrt{31} }{4}
