GIVEN,

4x-7y= -28

-7x+5y= -9

TO FIND,

solve and find the value of x and y.

SOLUTION,

we are given two simultaneous equations,

4x-7y= -28 ------- multiplying by 7-------------(i)

-7x+5y= -9 ------- multiplying by 4-------------(ii)

⇒ 28x-49y= -196

  -28x+ 20y= -36

solving the equations and eliminating 'x'

⇒ -29y= -232

computing the value of y,

⇒ y= \frac{-232}{-29}

⇒ y= 8

substituting the value of y=8 in equation (i) to find the value of x.

⇒ 4x- 7*8= -28

solving for the value of x.

⇒ 4x= -28+56

⇒4x= 28

⇒x=\frac{28}{4}

⇒ x= 7

HENCE THE VALUE OF X=7 AND Y=8 IN THE GIVEN EQUATION.
