Answer :

x = 2 , y = 1

Solution :

Here ,

The given equations are ;

3x + 4y = 10 --------(1)

x - y = 1 ---------(2)

Multiplying eq-(2) by 4 , we get ;

=> 4•(x - y) = 4•1

=> 4x - 4y = 4 --------(3)

Now ,

Adding eq-(1) and (3) , we get ;

=> 3x + 4y + 4x - 4y = 10 + 4

=> 7x = 14

=> x = 14/7

=> x = 2

Now ,

Putting x = 2 in eq-(2) , we have ;

=> x - y = 1

=> 2 - y = 1

=> -y = 1 - 2

=> -y = -1

=> y = 1

Hence ,

x = 2 , y = 1

There you go
I solved these equations by eliminating y and then placing the value of x which we got in equation one to obtain the value of y.
