x=y+2 (put in equation second.)

2x-y=8

2(y+2) -y=8

2y+4-y=8

2y-y=8-4

y=4

x=y+2 y=4 (put the value of y in this equation)

x=4+2

X=6

Given:-

  • x + y = 8

  • x - y = 2

To find:-

Values of y and x.

Solution:-

By adding the equations:-

→x + y = 8

→x - y = 2

So,

2x = 10

x = 10/2

x = 5

By substituting the equations:-

→x + y = 8

→5 + y = 8

→y = 8 - 5

→y = 3

Hence, y = 3And, x = 5.
