solve by method of cross multiplication: 6(ax+ by)=3a + 2b. 6(bx-ay)=3b-2a.

6ax + 6 by = 3a +2b  .................(i)
6bx  +  6ay =  3b - 2a .....................(ii)

(2) × a - (1) × b , we get 
6abx + 6b2y =3ab + 2b2
6abx + 6a2y = 3ab - 2a2

12 (a2+b2 )y = 2(a2 + b2 )
y = 1/6

Using the value of y in (i) , 

6ax + 6b(1/6) = 3a +2b
6x +b = 3a+ 2b
x = 3a +b / 6a
