solve by subsititutiob method . x - 2y = 1 and 2x - y = 7​

Answer:

Given x-2y=1..................(1)

          2x-y=7 ................(2)

From x - 2y = 1,

         x = 1 + 2y .................(i)

Substitiuting the value of x from (i) in (2),

2x - y = 7

2 ( 1 + 2y ) -y = 7

2 + 4y -y = 7

2 + 3y = 7

3y = 7 - 2

3y = 5

y = 5/3......................(ii)

Substituting the value of y from (ii) in (1),

x - 2y = 1

x - 2 × 5/3 = 1

x - 10/3 = 1

x = 1 + 10/3

x = 13/3
