Solve by substituting method : 2x – 3y = 13; 7x – 2y = 20

here, 2x-3y=13.............(1)

7x-2y=20.............(2)

eq (1) multiply by (7)

and eq (2) by (2)

14x-21y=91...........(3)

14x-4y=40............(4)

(3)+(4)

14x-21y=91

14x-(+)4y=40

= 17y=51

y= 51÷7

y=3. put y =3 in eq (2)

7x-2(3)=20

7x-6=20

7x=20-6

7x=14

x=14÷7

x=2

therefore (x,y) is (2,3)
