16 & -4

Step-by-step explanation:

QUESTION :-

Solve by the method of factorisation :

What are the roots of the quadratic polynomial - 16x - 80.

_________________________

SOLUTION :-

- 16x - 80 = 0

=> - 20x + 4x - 80 = 0

=> x (x - 20) + 4 (x - 20) = 0

=> (x - 20)(x + 4) = 0

Root no. 1 -

x - 20 = 0

=> x = 20

Root no. 2 -

x + 4 = 0

=> x = -4

So,

the roots of the polynomial are 20 & -4.

hope it helps.

Answer:

x² - 16x - 80 =0

x² - 20x+4x - 80 =0

x(x-20) + 4(x - 20)=0

(x+4)(x-20)=0

Equating both to zero

So, x= -4 and x=20

the roots of the quadratic polynomial x² - 16x - 80 are -4 and 20.
