By elimination method.....

2x-y = 6......(1)

x-y =2.....(2)

From (1) and (2)

1×(1) = 2x-y = 6

2×(2) = 2x -2y = 4

3y = 2

y =2/3...

substituting y in (2)

x- (2/3) = 2

x = 2+2/3

x = 6+2/3

x = 8/3...

:.x=8/3 and y=2/3..
