$\frac{x}{4} = \frac{7}{8} \\ \\ now \: by \: cross \: multiplication \\ \\ 8(x) = 7(4) \\ 8x = 28 \\ x = \frac{28}{8} = \frac{7}{2} \\ \\ now \: put \: x = \frac{7}{2} \: in \: \frac{x}{4} \\ \\ \frac{ \frac{7}{2} }{4} = \frac{7}{2} \times \frac{4}{1} = \frac{28}{4} (verified)$
