If f(x) = 1 - 2x

i) Find f(-5)

f(-5) = 1 - 2(-5)

= 1 + 10

= 11

ii) g(f(x)) = 3(11) - 2

= 33 - 2

= 31

iii) h(x) = 0

x² - 5x - 11 = 0

By using Quadratic equation.

D = b² - 4ac

= (-5)² - 4(1)(-11)

= 25 + 44

= 69

x =  \frac{b -  \sqrt{D} }{2a}

 = \:  \frac{( - 5) -  \sqrt{69} }{2}

 =   \frac{ - 5 -  \sqrt{69} }{2}

 =  - 9.1533..

x =  \frac{ - b -  \sqrt{D} }{2a}

x =  \frac{ - ( - 5) -  \sqrt{69} }{2}

x =   \frac{5 -  \sqrt{69} }{2}

x = 0.8466...
