 x^{2} -2cxy -7y^{2} = (x+ay)(x+by)

 = x^{2} + xy( a + b ) + aby^{2}

/* Compare bothsides ,we get */

 ab = -7 \: --(1)

  a + b = -2c

/* Divide both sides by (-ab) , we get */

 \frac{(a+b)}{-ab} = \frac{-2c }{(-ab)}

\implies -(-2c) = 4

 \implies c = 2

Therefore.,

 Option \: \pink { ( c ) } \:is \: correct
