Step-by-step explanation:

according to question :-

2x+3y = 18 (eq1)

-7x+9y = 15 (eq2)

now eq1 * 9

9(2x+3y = 18 )

18x + 27y = 162 (eq3)

now eq2 * 3

3(-7x+9y = 15)

-21x+27y = 45 (eq4)

now subtract equation 4 from 3

(18x+27y) - (-21x+27y) = 162-45

18x+27y +21x-27y = 117

39x = 117

x = 117/39 = 3

x = 3

now put value of x in equation 1

2*3 + 3y = 18

3y = 18-6

y = 12/3 = 4

x = 3

y= 4
