Answer:
x = 1 , y = 2
Solution:
Here,
The given equations are :
(2x + 5y)/xy = 6 ---------(1)
(4x - 5y)/xy = -3 ----------(2)
Eq-(1) can be rewritten as ;
=> (2x + 5y)/xy = 6
=> 2x/xy + 5y/xy = 6
=> 2/y + 5/x = 6 ----------(3)
Eq-(2) can be rewritten as ;
=> (4x - 5y)/xy = -3
=> 4x/xy - 5y/xy = -3
=> 4/y - 5/x = -3 ----------(4)
Now,
Adding eq-(3) and (4) , we get ;
=> 2/y + 5/x + 4/y - 5/x = 6 + (-3)
=> 2/y + 4/y = 6 - 3
=> (2 + 4)/y = 3
=> 6/y = 3
=> y/6 = 1/3
=> y = 6/3
=> y = 2
Now,
Putting y = 2 in eq-(3) , we get ;
=> 2/y + 5/x = 6
=> 2/2 + 5/x = 6
=> 1 + 5/x = 6
=> 5/x = 6 - 1
=> 5/x = 5
=> x/5 = 1/5
=> x = 5/5
=> x = 1
Hence, x = 1 , y = 2
