Solve for x and y 5x - y = 3 and 3x - 2y = -1

5x-y=3

multiple by 2,

10x-2y=6........(1)

3x-2y=-1.........(2)

subtract eqn, 1--2

10x-3x-2y+2y=6+1

7x=7

x=1,

from eqn, 1

5×1-y=3

y=5-3=2

x=1, y=2
