Answer:
x = b , y = -a
Step-by-step explanation:
Given equation,
ax/b - by/a = a + b ----(1)
ax - by = 2ab ----(2)
From 1 ,
ax/b - by/a = a + b
⇒ax/b = a + b + by/a
⇒ x = [b*(a^2) + (b^2)*a + (b^2)*y]/a^2
Using above vale of x in (2),
a{[(b^2)*a + b*(a^2) + (b^2)*y]/a^2} - by = 2ab
⇒b²a + ba² + b²y - aby = 2a²b
⇒ y(b² - ab) = a²b - b²a
⇒ y = [ab(a-b)]/[(b)(b - a)]
⇒ y = -a (a-b)/(a-b)
⇒ y = -a
Using y = -a in (2),
ax - b(-a) = 2ab
⇒ ax = 2ab - ab = ab
⇒ x = b
∴x = a, y = -b
