Step-by-step explanation:

3/x+y - 2/x-y = 2 --------------(1)

9/x+y - 4/x-y = 1 ------------(2)

multiply equation (1) with 3 so that 9/x+y gets cancelled through subtraction of equation(2) from equation (1)

9/x+y + 6/x-y = 6

9/x+y - 4/x-y = 1

(-). (+)

_____________

6/x-y + 4/x-y = 1

10 = x-y-----(3)

substitute value of x-y in any of the equations to get x+y value also

9/x+y - 4/x-y = 1

9 /x+y = 1- 0.4

9/x+y = 0.6

x+y = 15--------(4)

adding equations 3&4

x +y = 15

x - y = 10

__________

2x = 25

x = 25/2

then y = 5/2
