EXPLANATION.

Question = 1

solve by elimination method

3x + y = 5 .....(1)

5x - y = 11 .....(2)

we can add both the equation we get,

8x = 16

x = 2

put x = 2 in equation (1) we get,

3(2) + y = 5

6 + y = 5

y = -1

Therefore,

value of x = 2 and y = -1

Question = 2

verify 3 is a zeroes of polynomial

p(x) = 2x^3 - 11x^2 + 17x - 6

put x = 3 in given equation we get,

2(3)^3 - 11(3)^2 + 17(3) - 6

54 - 99 + 51 - 6

105 - 105 = 0

Therefore,

3 is a zeroes of this polynomial.

Question = 3

a and b are zeroes of polynomial

ax^2 - 6x - 6

ab = 4

find value of A

products of zeroes of polynomial = ab = c / a

4 = (-6) / a

4a = -6

a = -3 / 2

Therefore,

value of a = -3/2
