x-2y-4=0........... (2)

put y=0 in eq. (1) we get x=2

let A be (2,0)

put x=0 in eq. (1) we get y=-2

let B be (0,-2)

plot the points on graph and draw a line joining A and B

put y=0 in eq. (2)we get x=4

let C be (4,0)

put x=0 in eq. (2) we get y= -2

let D be (0,-2)

plot the points on the graph and join them

you can see that 2 lines are meeting at a point
