Let the present age of son be x years

So, the present age of father will be 10x

After 4 years,

Age of son = x + 4

Age of father = 10x + 4

According to the given condition

4(x + 4) = 10x + 4

☛ 4x + 16 = 10x + 4

☛ 16 - 4 = 10x - 4x

☛ 12 = 6x

☛ x = \dfrac{12}{6}

∴ x = 2

∴ Present age of Son ☛ x years
