Answer:

take second equation

4x+2y=16

Divide by 2

2x+y=8

y=8-2x

substitute y=8-2x in equation 1

2x+3y=12

2x+3(8-2x)=12

2x+24-6x=12

-4x+24=12

-4x=12-24

-4x= -12

x= -12/-4

x= 3

sub x=3 equation in y=8-2x

y= 8-2(3)

y=8-6

y=2

therefore x=3,y=2

hope it helps

Answer:

x=3 and y=2

Step-by-step explanation:

2x+3y=12         ---------- (1)          4x+2y=16      -----------(2)

2x=12-3y

x=12-3y/2

put value of x in (2)

4(12-3y/2)+2y=16

24-6y+2y=16

-4y=16-24

-4y=-8

y=+2

put in (1)

2x+3*2=12

2x+6=12

2x=12-6

2x=6

x=3

∴x=3 and y=2
