SOLUTION

Substitution Method

x-y= 3.......(1)

x/3+y/2= 6.......(2)

From (1)

=) x-y =3

=) x= 3+y........(3)

So, putting the value of x in eq. (2), we get

 = > \frac{x}{3} + \frac{y}{2} =6 \\ = > \frac{2x + 3y}{6} = 6 \\ = > 2x + 3y = 36 \\ = > 2(3 + y) + 3y = 36 \\ = > 6 + 2y + 3y = 36 \\ = > 6 + 5y = 36 \\ = > 5y = 36 - 6 \\ = > 5y = 30 \\ = > y = \frac{30}{5} = 6

Now, putting the value of y in eq. (1).

=) x-y= 3

=) x-6= 3

=) x= 3+6

=) x= 9

hope it helps ☺️
