Given,

 \frac{x + 1}{3} =\frac{x - 2}{4} +\frac{1}{3}

LCM = 12.

 \frac{x + 1}{3} * 12 =\frac{x - 2}{4} * 12 +\frac{1}{3} * 12

= > 4(x + 1) = 3(x - 2) + 4

= > 4x + 4 = 3x - 6 + 4

= > 4x + 4 = 3x - 2

= > 4x + 4 - 3x = -2

= > x = -6.

Hope it helps!

x + 1 /3 = x-2/4 +1/3

on cross multiplication

x+1 /3 = 3(x-2)+(4)/ 4x3

x+1/3 = 3x-6+4 / 12

x+1/3 = 3x-2 / 12

again on cross multiplication we get

12(x+1) = 3(3x-2)

12x + 12 = 9x - 6

12x - 9x = -6 -12

3x = -18

x = -6
