Solve numarical examples.
The masses of two bodies are measured
to be 15.7 + 0.2 kg and 27.3 0.3 kg.
What is the total mass of the two and the
error in it?

Error is 0.5 kg

to be 15.7 ± 0.2 kg and 27.3 ± 0.3 kg.

If we are  adding or subtracting quantities with uncertainties/Errors , we need to  add the absolute uncertainties./Error

Error Comes same in case of addition & Subtraction both cases

Hence the  total mass of the two bodies

= 15.7 ± 0.2  + 27.3 ± 0.3

=  43 ± 0.5

Sum of two bodies is 43 kg

Error is 0.5 kg
