Radius of curvature of mirror = 10cm
Refractive index of first medium (μ₁) = 4/3
Refractive index of first medium (μ₂) = 3/2
To Find :
The nature of the image
Solution :
- Let us assume the object is been placed at a distance of x from the convave spherical surface
- we know the relation (μ₂/v) - (μ₁/u) = μ₂-μ₁ / R
(μ₂/v) - (μ₁/u) = μ₂-μ₁ / R
(3/2v) + (4/x) = (3/2 - 4/3) / -10
v = -1.5x / (0.017x + 1.33)
- From this we can say that v<0 i.e, Virtual image is formed
The image formed is virtual in nature
