a)X is carbon hydroxide.

On reaction with CO2,it gives calcium carbonate.

Ca(OH)2(aq)+CO2(g)→CaCO3(s)+H2O

b)X is obtained by adding water to calcium oxide(quick lime).

CaO(s)+H2O(l)→Ca(OH)2+heat

OR

a)Essential condition for the reaction is the presence of sunlight as it is photolytic reaction.

Its application is in black and white photography.

b)2FeSO4→Fe2O3+SO2+SO3

c)When water is added to quick lime it reacts vigorously to produce slaked lime.

CaO+H2O→Ca(OH)2
