Q.8.➡Speed of the train in the first 30 km, v1 = 30 km/h
Speed of the train in the next 90 km, v2 (to be determined)
Average speed = 60 km/h = (v1 + v2)/2
= (30 km/h + v2)/2

⇒ v2 = 90 km/h

Q.9.➡Average speed = Total distance covered / Total time taken

Time taken to travel the first 40 km = 1 h
Time taken to travel the next 30 km = 30km /(20 km/h) = 1.5 h
Total distance travelled = 40 + 30 = 70 km
Total time taken = 1 + 1.5 = 2.5 h
Average speed = 70 km/ 2.5 h
= 28 km/h

Q.10. ➡Given:-

Velocity = 120m/hr120m/hr
Velocity in m/s is:- 120/3600=0.033m/s120/3600=0.033m/s
Time = 30 seconds.
So, from formula speed=distance/timespeed=distance/time

0.033=distance/300.033=distance/30

Distance=0.033×30mDistance=0.033×30m

Distance=0.99mor( 1m)Distance=0.99mor( 1m)

Therefore, the train will cover 0.99 m (~1 m) in 30 seconds.
