a) given mass,m=160x10⁻³kg
and speed,v=40m/s
and time,t=0.04s
therefore acceeleration,a=v/t=40/0.04=10³m/s²
average force,F=ma=160x10⁻³x10³=160N
b) given force on A produces an acceleration of 30m/s²
⇒F=m₁a₁=m₁x30....................................................(1)
next when it acts on B it produces an acceleration of 18m/s²
⇒F=m₂a₂=m₂x18.....................................................(2)
now (1)/(2) gives
1=(m₁x30)/(m₂x18)
⇒m₁/m₂=3/5
