solve the equation 2x-1/4=1

2X-1/4=1

2X-1=4 (cross multiply 4)

2X=5

X=5/2

X=2.5

for linear
 2x(1/2)-x(1/4)-1=0

x/1=x*4/4(use it)

now put in equation
like above use it again 
1=1*4/4

now the equation will take plce a u want i.e 3x-4=0
