♦ As given in the question :-

4(2y - 3) + 5(3y - 4) = 14

♦ By simplifying

(8y - 12) + (15y - 20) = 14

 \implies (8y + 15y) + (-12  -20 ) = 14

 \implies (23y) + (-32 ) = 14

 \implies 23y - 32  = 14

 \implies 23y = 14 + 32

 \implies 23y = 46

 \implies y = \dfrac{46}{23}

 \implies y = 2

♦ By putting the value of y = 2 in

4(2y - 3) + 5(3y - 4) = 14

 \implies 4( 2(2) - 3 ) + 5(3(2) - 4 ) = 14

 \implies 4(4 - 3) + 5( 6 - 4) = 14

 \implies 4(1) + 5(2) = 14

 \implies 4 + 10 = 14

 \implies  14 = 14

♦ Then as RHS = LHS

value of Y = 2 is correct .
