\mathfrak{\huge{\underline{Answer:}}}

 \frac{y + 2}{5}  +  \frac{y + 1}{3}  = 5

Take LCM of 5 and 3 and then solve

 \frac{3y + 6 + 5y  + 5}{15}  = 5

 \frac{8y + 11}{15}  = 5

Cross Multiplication

8y + 11  \times 1= 5 \times 15

8y + 11 = 75

Arrange Constant and Variables

8y = 75 - 11

8y = 64

y =  \frac{64}{8}

y = 8

\mathfrak{\huge{\underline{Verification:}}}

Value of y = 8

 \frac{y + 2}{5}  +  \frac{y + 1}{ 3}

 \frac{8 + 2}{5}  +  \frac{8 + 1}{3}

 \frac{10}{5}  +  \frac{9}{3}

 \frac{30 + 45}{15}

 \frac{75}{15}  = 5
