 \frac{ - 12}{x}  =   \frac{ - 6}{5}

By cross multiplying , we get

 - 12 \times 5 =  - 6 \times x

 - 60 =  - 6x

Minus on both sides gets cancelled

60 = 6x

 \frac{60}{6}  = x

x = 10
