3(4x-3y-5)=12x-9y-15

- + +

0 -7y -25

-7y=25

Y= - 25/7

Substitute it in equation 1

Solve equation [2] for the variable  x

[2] 4x = 3y + 5 [2] x = 3y/4 + 5/4

Plug this in for variable  x  in equation [1]

  [1] 3•(3y/4+5/4) + 4y = 10   [1] 25y/4 = 25/4   [1] 25y = 25

Solve equation [1] for the variable  y

  [1] 25y = 25    [1] y = 1

By now we know this much :

  x = 3y/4+5/4   y = 1

Use the  y  value to solve for  x

  x = (3/4)(1)+5/4 = 2
