Elimination Method
x-2y=0.............1
3x+4y=20........2

For y
Multiply equation 1 by 3
we get,
3x   -  6y  =  0
3x  +  4y  =  20
(-)   (-)         (-)
---------------------
0      -10y = -20

-10y= -20
10y= 20
y=2

For x
multiply equation 1 by 2
we get,

2x  - 4y  = 0
3x  +4y  =20
------------------
5x +0    =20

5x=20
x=4

hence, x =4 and y =2
