Question:

\frac{x}{3} + \frac{14}{9} = \frac{-5}{9}

Answer:

x + \frac{14}{9} = \frac{-5}{9} X 3

In the RHS we do cancellation of 3 and 9

x + \frac{14}{9} = \frac{-5}{3}

Here we again do the transposition method.

x = \frac{-5 X 9}{3 X 14}

Again cancellation of 3 and 9

x= \frac{-5 X 3}{14}

x = \frac{-15}{14}

Therefore \\x= 1.07
