 \frac{y}{2}  -  \frac{1}{5}  =  \frac{y}{3}  +  \frac{1}{4}
 \frac{5y - 2}{10}  =  \frac{4y + 3}{12}
60y - 24= 40y + 30
20y = 54
y = 54 \div 20
y = 2.7

Solution:
y/2 - 1/5 = y/3 + 1/4
y/2 - 0.20 = y/3 + 0.25
y/2 = y/3 + 0.25 + 0.20
(y/2) x 3 = y + 1.35
1.5y - y = 1.35
0.5y = 1.35
y = 2.70

Hope you got it!
