Answer:

5/x + 6/y = 3 and 15/x + 3/y = 4

: . [ let 1/x = a , 1/y = b ]

5a + 6b = 3 , 15a + 3b = 4

5a =3- 6b

a= 3-6b / 5 15( 3-6b/5 ) +3b = 4

a= 3-6(5/18)/5 9- 18b = 4

a= 3-5/3 × 1/5 9 18b = -9 +4

a= 3-1/3 -18b = -5 ( both side (-)sign will cut)

a=9-1/3 18b = 5

: a= 8/3 (Ans.) : b = 5/18 (Ans.)
