now,in. equation ( I ) ,

x-2y= -2

x= 2y-2.

now put the value of x in equation ( II )

x+2y= 10

(2y-2)+2y=10

4y = 10+2

4y = 12

y= 12/4

=> y=3

now the value of y put in any equation

let in equation I

x-2y=-2

x-6=-2

x=4

so the value of x= 4 and y= 3
