Average Speed = Total Distance/Total Time

 v_{avg} =  \dfrac{72 \: km}{4 \: hrs}  = 18 \: km \:  {h}^{ - 1}

To Conver km/h into m/s, we multiply by \frac{5}{18}

18 \times  \dfrac{5}{18}  = 5 \: m \:  {s}^{ - 1}

Average speed = Total distance travelled / Total. time taken.

= 72/4

= 18km/hr

= 18*5/18

= 5 m/s (as 18 and 18 gets cancelled)
