Step-by-step explanation:
1] After 10days, 25 men left. Till 10days, all 150 men ate = 150×10 = 1500 units of food. Food will last = 5250 ÷ 125 = 42 days. Thus remaining food will last for 42 more days.
2] If 27 men complete 1/6 of a job in 20 days, it takes 120 days for them to get it done. Now, by increasing the number of men that work together, the days required for the task to be done decreases in a proportion so that the product men * days is unchanged. This is called inverse variation.
So, considering that we need the project to be finished in 90 days, we can easily solve the equation 27 * 120 = x * 90, and get x = 36 (men), meaning that 9 more men are required.
