2(x - 5) + 3(x - 2) = 8 + 7(x - 4)

→ 2x - 10 + 3x - 6 = 8 + 7x - 28

→ 5x - 16 = 7x - 20

→ 5x - 7x = -20 + 16

→ -2x = -4

→ x = -4/-2 = 2
