=(−2+−y)(−2+−y)

=(−2)(−2)+(−2)(−y)+(−y)(−2)+(−y)(−y)

=4+2y+2y+y2

=y2+4y+4

= (-2)² - 2(-2)(y) + (y)²

= 4 +4y + y²

i know the minus sign before 2 is confusing u u can do this way to ignore it----

= (-2-y)²

= -(2+y)²

= -(4+4y+y²)

= -4-4y-y²

= 4 + 4y + y² ( dividing throughout by -1)
