The side of square is 30.5 cm.

The area of the square occupied more than the rectangle.

Step-by-step explanation:

As given in question that a wire is bent in the shape of a rectangle.

length, l = 36 cm

breadth, b = 25 cm

We have to find the side (a) of square and area of the both shape.

So, we need to find the length of the wire.

Let the length of wire be x.

we know that,

length of wire = perimeter of rectangle

x = 2(l + b)

x = 2(36 + 25)

x = 2 x 61

x = 122 cm

length of wire = perimeter of square

122 = 4 x a

\frac{122}{4} = a

a = 30.5 cm

As we know that,

Area of rectangle = l x b

                                = 36 x 25

                                = 900\ cm^{2}

Area of square = a^{2}

                         = (30.5)^{2}

                         = 930.25\ cm^{2}

Hence the side of square will be 30.5 cm.

The area of the square occupied more than the rectangle.
